The lesser of four disasters is still a disaster

In my campaign for mayor of Phoenix I come across a great many people who have an opinion to share with me.  I listen to each person, try to learn about their individual hopes and concerns and come away with a greater understanding of what people in Phoenix believe in.

Oddly enough I have come across a tea party supporter who stated:

"I see this race coming down to a choice between our own Jennifer Wright and Wes Gullett...anyone else would be a disaster."

The same Wes Gullett who supported the disasterous Janet Napolitano?  Wes Gullett certainly sounds more responsible than the Unterrific Trio of Stanton, Neely and Mattox but to presume that Mr. Gullett can be trusted to vote to protect Phoenix taxpayers is asking a bit much.

I have publicly stated at a prior forum that I do not support higher taxes today, nor next week, nor next month nor next year nor during my entire term in office.  The day I see such a claim jump from Mr. Gullett's mouth is the day I as a voter would consider voting for him.  Until such a day occurs I trust him to issue 7 point plans from now until the next supposed crisis at which point I fully expect Mr. Republicans for Janet Napolitano to cave in and take the politcally correct step of raising taxes and raising city service rates just as his favored candidate did when the rubber hit the road.

How much more aggressive could he be?

Fox News host Brett Baier brought up the issue in one of the first questions of the night, asking former senator Rick Santorum about his claim that President Obama has made America less safe.

"When it comes to going after terrorists, for example, drone attacks in Pakistan have more than tripled under President Obama. He just sent 30,000 more troops into Afghanistan last year, and he just authorized, as we talked about, this mission to kill bin Laden. How much more aggressive could he be?" asked Baier.
